Description

Experience the nostalgic comfort of a classic American side dish with this easy Green Bean Casserole. Featuring tender canned green beans folded into a velvety, savory cream of mushroom sauce and topped with crispy fried onions, this recipe offers the perfect harmony of creamy and crunchy textures. It is a stress-free, high-reward staple perfect for holidays or busy weeknight dinners, requiring minimal prep while delivering maximum flavor that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cans (14.5 ounces each) green beans, drained well
2 cans (10.5 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup whole milk
6 ounces French’s Original Crispy Fried Onions (approx. 3 cups)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, condensed mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, salt, and 1.5 cups of the crispy fried onions.
Pour the mixture into a 1.5-quart baking dish.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and heated through.
Remove the dish from the oven, stir slightly, and top with the remaining 1.5 cups of fried onions.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the onion topping is golden brown.

Notes

Ensure you drain the green beans thoroughly to prevent a runny casserole.
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or sautéed mushrooms to the mixture before baking.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
